Hunters didn't get into doing this for the paperwork. So we kept the app out of the way as much as possible: it does its job in the background and asks for as little as possible while you're working.
Before the day
Get set up once. You tell us which credentials you hold — a listed hunter supplying for human food, or approved by a processor to supply pet food. That decides which paperwork the app produces, so you never pick the wrong form. You also choose your processor from our national directory. New to it all? Take our in-app assessment and we'll introduce you to the nearest processor taking supply.
Find land. Orange pins on the map are open to request a booking. Request a day, and the landholder approves it.
On the day
- No bars, no problem. Every site can have the full map downloaded, all the data collected is saved to your phone while hunting, and it all syncs when you're back in range.
- Your track. The app records where you've been, like running app, for you to look back on. If you're in a helicopter, we record the altitude too so you can keep compliant.
- Every kill. Logged as you tap, with its location, and ready to scan a tag if it's a big animal. That's where the meat came from, on the record.
After the day
- Tell us when the carcasses went into the chiller or freezer. Cold chain matters, when MPI asks.
- Each big carcass gets a tag. Each group of small animals gets a docket for the box. The app turns your logged hunt into the supplier declaration your processor needs when you're ready to hand it over.
- Deliver, get it weighed, get paid by your processor. You can see the prices paid by your selection of processors so you can deliver to the best priced.
What it costs you
Nothing. Happy Ending is free for hunters, and your rate per kilo is published for you by your processor.
